Pubs

Chiang Mai Saloon:

Burger and beer place American-style. friendly and efficient staff, relaxed atmosphere with recorded rock on the sound system and music videos on the large screen.

Loi Kroh rd, 150m from the Night Bazaar.

Half Moon Pub:

A sometimes loud sports bar popular with both expats and tourists. Darts & pool area, big screen TV, good burgers, Thai and Indian food.

Moonmuang Road, Soi 2 (around the corner from Top North Guesthouse.)

O'Malley's Irish Pub:

Open early to late with full breakfasts, Beef and Guinness Pie, BBQ ribs and Chicken.

Anusarn Market off Chang Klan Road in the Night Bazaar area.

Peak Pool Bar & Restaurant:

Located near the Peak climbing wall in a group of open air bars with a lively atmosphere.

Chan Klan Road in the Night Bazaar, set well back from the street in an arcade.

Queen Victoria Inn:

A traditional Pub and Hotel with John Smiths', Guinness, Heineken And Strongbow on draught. The pub menu includes fish and chips and pies, Mexican, Indian, Thai and Italian dishes.

Next to Khum Kaew palace on Phra Pokklao Road, inside the moat.

Red Lion English Pub and Restaurant:

Very popular with tourists for the faithful recreation of the British pub, including darts.

123 Loy Kroh Road (just a few steps from Chang Klan in the Night Bazaar.)

THC Rooftop Bar:

A very bohemian place above the Hemp Shop, pleasant in good weather with a view of Thapae Gate.

19/4-5 Kotchasarn Road (opposite Thapae Gate).

The Pub:

Long time favorite in Chiang Mai. A true English pub and restaurant with a great selection of food and drinks and the traditional roast dinners on Sundays.

189 Huay Kaew Road (near Amiri Rincome Hotel)

Tuskers:

Bar and restaurant with a mixed menu. Live sports on the TV, free pool table and Quiz nights.

Chaiyaphum Soi 1, close to the moat.

(UN) Irish Pub:

Very popular with expats. Good food, sports on a big TVs. Quiz night on Thursdays.

24/1 Ratvithi Road

White Lotus Restaurant and Bar:

A friendly and sometimes quiet bar.

68/3 Chareon Prathet Road (located about two blocks east of the Night Bazaar.)

With Live Music

La Brasserie:

Acoustic guitar outside in the garden. The famous Took and Friends inside at the bar playing favorites by Hendrix, Dylan, Marley, Stevie Ray Vaughn and others.

37 Charoenrat Road

Café Souvannaphoum:

A wine bar with comfortable seating and relaxing music.

20/1 Ratchamankha Road, (near Moon Muang)

Garden Chiang Mai:

The Chiang Mai Blues Club meets here to play on Wednesdays, and more live music on Sundays during the street market.

139 Ratchadamnoen Road

North Gate:

Popular with younger expats. Nightly live jazz performances.

Inside the moat just east of Chang Puak Gate

Tha Chang Jazz Club:

Live jazz on Saturdays.

Nightclubs

BangRak:

Primarily student crowd with standing room only on weekend nights. No cover charge, but you'll be expected to purchase some drinks.

Nimmanheamin Road Soi 6

Bubbles Disco:

Good DJs and enthusiastic crowds, packed on weekend nights.

Porn Ping Tower, 46 Charoen Prathet Road.

Discovery:

A small club with live band, DJ and large screens showing music videos. Popular with a young crowd but ID's are carefully checked.

Mo'C Mo'L:

Dining with live music outdoors near a small pond.

Huay Kaew Road, near Chiang Mai University

Monkey Club:

Hot spot for the students, with a variety of live music.

Nimminheamin Road Soi 9

Gay Bars

Friendship Bar:

Small outdoor bar popular with Thai gays, expats and tourists. Reasonable prices.

Thapae Road Soi 1 (between the Peak Climbing wall and D2 Hotel in the Night Bazaar area.)

Glass Onion:

Sophisticated wine bar popular with gays.

Room 1 project, 61 Nimmanhaemin Road (opposite "Warm Up.")

Golden Ball (Bon Tong):

Northern Thai style outdoor bar and restaurant. Local prices, friendly staff and fun atmosphere.

Santitham Road (at Junction with Tewan Road)
